OTR Survey commissioned by the Life Underwriting Board

ON THE RISK (OTR) is the official publication of the Association of Home Office Underwriters (AHOU) and the Canadian Institute of Underwriters (CIU). Published quarterly, it addresses the issues that are relevant to all people involved in underwriting life and living benefits insurance. The OTR Mission Statement clearly notes the following:

OTR is and will remain a fluid and dynamic medium which analyzes the present and anticipates the future. Editorial content is monitored constantly by the editorial team to assure its timely and relevant value to the readership. Shifts in geographic and demographic sources of OTR circulation in the future will also be monitored so that all readers, regardless of their worldwide location, continue to receive optimal benefit. Internet technology employed by OTR will be used in a manner consistent with the overall mission of OTR. It will be monitored by the editorial team at all times for adherence to this philosophy.

With this in mind the Life Underwriting Board (LUB) has commissioned an original OTR survey. The survey is electronic and anonymous. The goal is to acquire as much input as possible and then evaluate the results. In addition to this email being disseminated widely by the AHOU, CIU and ALU, a link will be available on all three website to access the survey. The link is:

We hope to have significant feedback. The survey will be open until the end of the business day Friday August 20, 2010. Results will then be compiled and directed to the LUB and OTR for discussion at their annual planning meeting at the end of September, 2010.
