PRESENTATION OVERVIEW:

This presentation will outline the basic anatomy, and pathophysiology of common cardiac conditions that are seen at the time of underwriting. We will also go through common risk factors, and how they influence cardiac risk as well as common cardiac tests seen during underwriting. By the end underwriters will have a better understanding of the stratification of cardiac risks via risk factors and cardiac testing.

DR. ZESHAN SHAIKH:

Dr. Shaikh has over 19 years of clinical experience in family and occupational medicine. He has worked within the life insurance industry for the last ten years, including as the Chief Medical Officer for several insurance companies. He also has experience consulting with health insurers and occupational medical providers and has helped developed medicals, return to work plans and assisted in the development of hazardous materials surveillance and treatment programs. He has assisted with Critical Illness and Disability product developments, definition developments as well as Claims assessment and training.
