2020 & 2021 EDUCATION
CIU’s Program Committee is poised to present a Fall Webinar, our unique on-line session, as well as CIU’s January 24-25, 2021 Education Seminar which will feature industry leaders in the fields of insurance medicine and the underwriting profession – Education is what we are all about. Programing dates & times, along with the speakers and topic details will be posted soon to www.ciu.ca in the early Fall of 2020.

In case you missed the news, in support of CIU and association continuity, Jennifer Dahl, Chair, Shawn James, Vice Chair and Brigitte Mallozzi, Past Chair, will continue in their leadership roles with our current team members for the balance of this year and into Spring of 2021.

Erica Hind, Hannover Re, has assumed CIU’s Program Committee Directorship, with Karen McLeod of LOGiQ3 in the role of Assistant Program Director. They are pleased to announce the 2020-21 Program Committee Members:Nicole Morrall, Manulife, Marie Claude Alarie, Swiss Re, David O’Donoghue, Sun Life, Shawn Kropf, Manulife, and Mathieu Jean-Pierre, LOGiQ3. As an integral part of the CIU Team, they are dedicated to bringing you the best in educational programming as we present opportunities for professional excellence in our current work environments.
CIU TECHNICAL/WEBSITE COMMITTEE
CIU’s Technical Director, Hamid Izadi, PartnerRe, has brought on board Stephen Jackson and Kentish Appadoo of Sun Life Financial to form CIU’s new Technical & Website Committee. Together, they will be supporting IT activity, as well as developing CIU’s new website, launching some exciting inter-active components to enhance our member services and industry partners’ experiences.
CONGRATULATION TO THE NEW FALUs!
In lieu of 2020’s events being cancelled, and as our Annual FALU Awards Ceremony did not take place. On behalf of all CIU members, we take this opportunity to send congratulations to all New Canadian FALUs who have achieved excellence in professional development. Special kudos go to Adrienne Moriarty, RBC Life Insurance, for her outstanding Educational Achievement Award!
Once finalized, CIU will be posting AGM-related business materials for our members to reference, which will include CIU’s Annual Financial Report (2019-2020), along with a note from CIU Treasurer Martha Ham.
As we look forward to planning an exceptional CIU AGM in 2021, we invite you to mark your calendars and plan to join us June 6 – 9th at Le Centre Sheraton, in beautiful Montréal, Québec.
